Foreclosure sales will be suspended by Scrooge, er, Citibank, for 30 days, starting this Friday, December 18, until January 7, 2010.
I suppose they don’t want the pipes to freeze on homes they take back.
They will also suspend evictions on houses they have already foreclosed on!
No doubt you, like me, is bowled over by their generosity!
Of the 100,000 modifications they claim to have done under HAMP, a staggering 270 have become permanent.
Really, how did Obama get the Nobel Peace Prize ahead of them?
My favorite line from the story: ”the company is working on “some long-term fundamental alternatives” to foreclosure, but declined to be specific.”
I have been hearing that song for some months now.
How much tax money have they received?
Well, just a small $38 billion, yes, BILLION, dollar tax break, for Citibank, for starters.
It is becoming more clear that the operations of the Federal Reserve Board, and the Treasury Department, for the last year and a half or so, have been deliberately hidden from the public.
But these foreclosure moratorium gestures are widely publicized.
